Would this work? Imagine how dark the game it would be and would end tragically exploring sympathetic motivations, moral implications, and the dark side of the Heroes of the World Regeneration? It would give a good reason to oppose the Church of Martel and even to the extent go to the point where Derris Kharlan and Angels would be opposed. Heck Kratos would return is one thing and at the same time pave way to Phantasia as a tie in. Thoughts on the Vanguard? I honestly think they are an interesting group who deserves to be fleshed out more but from the player's POV. Like this time, the remnants would only consist of 6-8 party members as a one man army instead of the whole.

I was surprised to find that not only was Yuri an orphan but that he was born and raised in the lower quarter with a dislike for nobility. He is even sarcastic at times and a bit funny and light hearted. He even cares about his friends to the point of risking his own life. This shows mostly and predominantly after Alexei dies. Sodia comes up to him holding a knife and stabs him. He falls into the ocean but still survives the injury he revived from Sodia. It is even revealed later that everyone came looking for him and he wakes up in Zaphias to find out that the Duke saved him and treated the stab wound. The fact that they went looking for Yuri proves they wanted to know if he was ok or if he was hurt badly. This proves he has a strong bond with his friends.
