Slag Assault (岩斬滅砕陣, Ganzan Messaijin^?, "Stone Slicing Destructive Shattering Field"), also localized as Slog Assault, is an Earth-elemental, mainly sword-related, arte in the Tales series.

Arte Description and History[]

Slag Assault (TotA) — **Slag Assault** as it appears in *Tales of the Abyss*.

The user leaps into the air, slamming their blade into the ground as they land to launch a large wave of rocks at the enemy. In Tales of Destiny 2, this attack is particularly useful for its range, capable of damaging enemies hidden in the back, similar to the flame capabilities of Bakuenken. Kyle Dunamis can extend this arte into the mystic arte Shouou Zetsurenshou.

In Tales of the Abyss, Slag Assault is the third of four artes Luke fon Fabre can learn from the sidequest that involves finding books on the Albert-style swordsmanship. Having learned Lightning Blade, and after talking to Nephry Osborne about Dist, the party talks to a man standing near the counter on the first floor of the Keterburg Hotel. He is studying the changes in the Albert style, and has the textbook for Slag Assault, and is willing to sell it for 80000 gald. Luke returns to Susanne and attempts to cook his mother a meal. Right after earning the money, the party returns to Keterburg and buys the book. The user leaps into the air, before performing a front flip midair, then slams his weapon down with enough force to send rocks out in front of him.

Slog Assault (ToV) — **Slog Assault** as it appears in *Tales of Vesperia*.

In the PlayStation 3 and Definitive Edition ports of Tales of Vesperia, Clint's version, Slog Assault, has him summon a row of small stalagmites that run across the ground when he slams his sword down.

In Tales of Berseria, Velvet Crowe spins counterclockwise as she leaps forward and stabs the ground with her weapon, causing the ground in front of her to crack open in a wide area.

In Tales of the Rays, Marcus Grimm slams his weapon down, causing the ground in front of him to rupture in a wide area. When used as the sixth or later action in a chain, Marcus's variant alters to Rekkuu Dankaisen.

In Tales of Arise, Kisara plants her shield into the ground, causing it to rupture violently in a wide area as Earth astral energy damages any enemy caught in it. She then plucks the shield back out, causing the rupture to burst.

In Tales of Luminaria, it is one of Raoul's mystic artes. Raoul jumps in the air, spinning his spear while charging energy. He then lands by stabbing his spear on the ground, creating a long line of stalagmites. This also increases his ATK temporarily before he stabs the ground.
