Ars Nova (アルス・ノヴァ Arusu Nova?) is a Unison Attack performed by Emil Castagnier and Marta Lualdi in Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.
Arte Description and History[]
Ars Nova is a special Unison Attack that can be activated only after both Emil and Marta have access to their own mystic artes. Unlike other Unison Attacks, which can be activated with a full Unison Gauge, this attack requires the gauge to be filled at least halfway but not completely. The arte requires at least one Dark and one Light element symbol on the Elemental Grid to match Emil and Marta's respective elements. When used, Emil attacks first with a series of slashes and kicks. Marta continues the attack with her own strikes. After finishing the combo, Marta focuses her energy to create a pillar of green light, while Emil jumps into the air and spins horizontally, turning the green pillar into a vortex of flames around him.
In Tales of Asteria, this becomes Emil's Co-Op Attack Mystic Arte.
Ars nova is a Latin term that translates to new art.
