Arsia (アーシア Aashia?) is a supporting character in Tales of Phantasia. She is Brambert Milene's love interest and the primary cause for his actions throughout the story. Arsia's story was added to the Game Boy Advance version of Tales of Phantasia and then integrated into all subsequent versions.

History[]

Years prior to the events of the story, Brambert, despite being known as the "Lord of the Elves" and leader of the Elf Colony, fell in love with Arsia, though he initially denies this. Cress Albane, Mint Adenade, and Claus F. Lester go to Brambert when Arsia turns Arche Klein to stone, hoping he will be able to assist them in dealing with the half-elven woman. Brambert agrees and travels to speak with Arsia alone. Arsia, longing to live with Brambert, threatens to leave Arche a statue if he refuses to stay with her. Although Brambert initially dedicates himself to his people, stating that he would not be able to leave them, he soon offers himself in Arche's stead, atoning for involving innocent people in their private matter. Arsia agrees and frees Arche, but turns Brambert to stone.

At some point throughout the many years that followed the incident, Arsia released Brambert and turned herself to stone. Brambert awakened only to discover the stone Arsia and a familiar bow from years prior, now fixed. Understanding Arsia's plea, Brambert decided not to return to his people, but to instead live with her. He eventually is encountered by the travelers again and learns of their desperate fight throughout time to defeat Dhaos. Brambert returns the bow to them and declares his decision to remain with Arsia until she recovers. When the travelers return once more, Brambert attempts to send them away, knowing their duties have not yet been resolved. Arche, realizing Brambert is punishing himself, proclaims her struggles as a half-elf and beckons him to pay attention to his feelings. Brambert comes to an understanding of his love for Arsia, which then breaks the spell upon her. The two embrace, and Brambert tells the elves of his village to elect a new leader because he will live with Arsia from now onward.

Appearance and Personality[]

Arsia Sprite (ToP GBA)

Arsia wears a purple and white, gold-trimmed, uniform-style outfit with few accessories other than a couple bracelets and belt. She has long, blond hair that travels down to her waist and heterochromia of the eyes. Arsia comes across as selfish in her demands but merely acts on her feelings toward Brambert. The love he shares with her eventually restores her humanity, allowing the two to live together, which is all she wanted.
