Basil (バジル Bajiru?) is a major character in the first two chapters of Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X. He is Claus F. Lester's old friend, and a professor studying "artificial mana".
History[]
Basil was born "Lessness". As such, he was chased away from his home, drifting to Valhalla, a village where poor people live. Despite being a complete stranger, the people of Valhalla treated him well. Eventually, he grew to consider them his family and dedicated his life to helping them.

Basil first appears in Euclid Village when he hears Dio and Mel discussing going to recruit spirits. Knowing they will go to Efreet first, he gives them water-based weapons to counter Efreet's fiery nature. Basil later appears in Valhalla, where he encounters the twins again, and Claus with them. They explain that they need the power of the spirits to disperse a Prism Ring in AC. 4408. Basil gives them an Elements Pot to contain their Atomism Cores.

Basil has light green hair that goes down his neck. He wears a long-sleeved, brown vest over a dark green shirt, green-gray pants, and black shoes.
