Demonic Circle (ToV)

Demonic Circle as it appears in Tales of Vesperia.

Demonic Circle (魔皇刃 Makoujin?, "Demon Lord Edge") is a high-tiered strike arte of the Demon Fang arte.

Arte Description and History[]

This arte is one of the strongest artes in the Demon Fang family. When it is executed, the user swings their sword around in a circle before slamming it into the ground to create a close-range shock wave that hits all enemies in a large arc in front of the user. It first appeared in Tales of Symphonia as Lloyd Irving's highest-level Strike branch arte that is derived from Demon Fang, with its Technical counterpart being Demonic Chaos.

In the original release of Tales of Vesperia, Demonic Circle is available to Flynn Scifo as one of several artes in his repertoire that are used only during the duel against him. His version of Demonic Circle consists of him striking the ground with his weapon, sending a powerful blast of energy upward; making it nearly identical to Yuri's Azure Blast in appearance. In the game's PlayStation 3 and Definitive Edition ports, Flynn obtains the arte while he is playable, and he can change this arte into the altered arte Rending Quake while the Athenor skill is equipped. He can also charge the arte into three levels by holding the Artes button, increasing the damage output and bouncing enemies into the air while adding various effects, depending on the charge level; with the first level that forces enemies to stand up, the second level can inflict Break Guard and the last level being unblockable.

In Tales of the Rays, this arte alters into Makoukyoujin when used as the sixth or later action in a chain.
