Dragon Glare (崩龍斬光剣 Houryuu Zankouken?, "Crumble Dragon Kill Light Sword"[1]) is an arte exclusive to Leon Magnus and Judas.
Arte Description and History
Dragon Glare involves the user leaping high into the air and then descending with a series of slashes. Once on the ground, the user performs one final strike. Judas uses it in Tales of Destiny 2, and he can extend it into Shouha Rekkousen. It is then added to the artes of Leon in the PlayStation 2 releases of Tales of Destiny, though it does not exist in the original game. This arte serves to further enhance the visual balance between his balanced slash and thrust motif, while also differentiating him from Stahn Aileron, with whom Leon shares many of the same artes in the original game.
In Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave, when executing this arte, Leon first launches his targets up in the air with an upward slash, then momentarily vanishes. He reappears, striking his targets with three slashes around them before reappearing in front of them and swinging Chaltier and his dagger in a cross shape at them, knocking them down. In Tales of Link, Judas originally uses Majin Senretsushou during a cutscene, but this was changed to Dragon Glare in localization.
In Tales of the Rays, this arte is Leon's mirrage arte. The execution is the same as in Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave; however, after his original pose, the target is added an additional hit, retaining the element the original element: Light.
