Exodus (アルクノア Arukunoa?, "Ark Noah") is an organization that serves as major antagonists in Tales of Xillia and Tales of Xillia 2. Milla Maxwell believes them to be a group who abuse spyrixes, but the truth it that their goal is to the dispel the schism surrounding Rieze Maxia to return home to Elympios. After the events of Tales of Xillia, they morph into a terrorist organization who attempt to sour relations between Rieze Maxia and Elympios.
History
Exodus was formed twenty years prior to the events of Tales of Xillia by the passengers of E.S.S. Zenethra who accidentally ended up in Rieze Maxia. They were accidentally blown into Rieze Maxia during Elympios's initial attempt to break the schism and harvest the Rieze Maxia's mana. Their goal is to return home, but the schism prevents travel back. Gilandor Yul Svent, also known as Gilland, masquerades as an advisor to Nachtigal I. Fenn and spurs the development of spyrix to create the Lance of Kresnik as well as of spyrites to solve the underlying issue of Elympios's man depletion. Meanwhile, the rest of the group tries to assassinate Maxwell as the source of the schism, willing to do whatever it took to achieve their ends. They act brazenly at Xian Du to kill Milla Maxwell, such as triggering a rockfall over her group, lethally poisoning a group meal, and changing the rules of the tournament to be to the death. The Lance of Kresnik is successfully used at Fezebel Marsh, punching a hole in the schism and allowing part of Elympios's army to enter. After regrouping, Jude Mathis and Milla's group successfully decapitates Exodus by infiltrating the E.S.S. Zenethra, killing Gilland, and destroying the Lance. Muzét then kills as many of the Exodus members she can find, as her primary task is the protection of the schism, which includes killing anyone who knows of it.
In Tales of Xillia 2, Exodus eventually survives after the schism is dispelled but morphs into a group of violent terrorists. They foment anti-Rieze Maxian sentiment and do whatever they can to disrupt relations between the nations, such as by attacking Rieze Maxian goodwill ambassadors at Helioborg Fortress.
