Luna (ルナ Runa?) is the Spirit of the Moon, one of several spirits who represent Light. Luna has appeared in several games of the series as a character and cameo, and is able to be summoned through the Luna arte. Luna is opposed by Shadow, the Spirit of Darkness, and shares the element of Light with Aska and Rem. In Tales of Rebirth, Luna is replaced by Gilione, the Sacred Beast of Light. She appears as a woman in all incarnations, and in most incarnations, she appears riding atop a crescent moon.

Tales of Phantasia[]
Luna makes her first appearance in Tales of Phantasia as a Summon Spirit. She appears as a black-haired woman. Luna is the Moon Spirit, as well as the strongest Spirit Claus F. Lester has available during that segment of the game. She is met when her fairy Artemis (アルテミス Arutemisu?) steals the party's Royal Crest of Alvanista and goes to the Tower of the Zodiac to retrieve it. Though she wishes not to fight, Luna acknowledges that it is an impossible wish now and agrees to form a pact. Luna makes a pact with Claus through the Moonstone Ring, though without a battle.
Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon[]
Luna appears in Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon as the Moon Spirit and one of the twelve Spirits that must be fought must be fought during the Ordeal of Spirits. She is found on the final level of the Tower of the Zodiac in AC. 4306 and is the boss of the dungeon. Once defeated, she teaches Mel and Dio the word of the moon: Worried Feeling (なやむ きもち nayamu kimochi?).[1]
Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X[]
Luna appears in Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X as a Spirit. In the story, Mel and Dio must collect her essence to save Vahalla City. Similar to the original Narikiri Dungeon, Luna is found on the top floor of the Tower of the Zodiac in AC. 4306 and is the boss of the dungeon. Upon defeat, Mel and Dio collect her essence. After completing the first quest of the story and obtaining the Moonstone jewel in Olive Village, the party may challenge Luna again in order to allow Dio and Claus to summon her in battle.
Tales of the World: Summoner's Lineage[]
Luna appears in Tales of the World: Summoner's Lineage as unit Fulein K. Lester can summon.
Tales of Destiny[]
Luna appears in Tales of Destiny as a special attack that can only be summoned through the consumable item Luna, described as a relic in the shape of a goddess clutching the moon. Unlike most appearances, the Luna in Tales of Destiny is the only incarnation that does not ride the traditional crescent moon object.
Tales of Symphonia[]
Luna, the Light of the Heavens, appears in Tales of Symphonia as one of the Sylvaranti Summon Spirits. She appears as a graceful woman with multi-colored hair. Appearing atop the Tower of Mana, though not willing to form a pact without Aska, she is one of the Summon Spirits of Light. She is able to be summoned through the arte Summon: Light. In battle, Luna prefers to sit back and cast Light-elemental magic, such as Photon and Ray. She can teleport away from attacks and will strike with her staff if necessary. She has one strike arte called Limited Ray, where she causes a column of light to appear. In the PlayStation 2 port of the game, she gains an arcane arte called Lunatic, which summons a pulsing column of light radially around her.
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World[]
In reference to her position as one of the Summon Spirits of Light, her name is attached to a monster grimoire that teaches a Light-elemental arte: Luna's Punishment, which teaches Prism Sword.
Tales of the Abyss[]
Luna is mentioned in Tales of the Abyss as the second day of the week, Lunaday, and the twelfth month, Luna Redecan. Despite her standing opposite to Rem in terms of the element of Light for Auldrant's months, only Rem is stated to be the aggregate sentience of the Sixth Fonon, the Fonon of Light. Luna is also the namesake for the satellite that orbits Auldrant, in further contrast Rem, who is the namesake for the Sun.

- Luna is the Latin name for the Moon. Additionally, in Roman mythology, Luna is the divine embodiment of the Moon.
- In Tales of Xillia 2, "Luna" is the pen-name that Chancellor Marcia uses when communicating with Elize Lutus.
- In Tales of Berseria, there is an inn in Hellawes called "Luna's Smile".
