Seems like changes related to the new skin are being applied and am wondering what are everyone's thoughts on what should be Aselia's favicon. I think it should be something symbolizing knowledge, like a book or a character; we do have a plenty of academicians and such in the series. Some Wikis like to put a mascot character from the series but we hardly have anything recurring and recognizable, maybe aside of normins due to relative recency of release of Zestiria and Berseria; perhaps Hootle from Arise would make a good choice as owls are symbol of knowledge and Hootle coming from the newest Original Title would certainly be big, I think.—Kaimi (talk) ∙ 15:42, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- I have no opinion on the favicon thing, but I logged in to say that I am turbo-disappointed by this new skin which is once again being forced upon everyone in spite of all the negative feedback. Even the merged Gamepedia wiki sites were forced to conform to the new skin, though they enjoyed a few good months free of the Oasis cancer that plagued the rest of Wikia/Fandom. For a while, I couldn't even find where the login button was moved to, it's so disintuitive for it to be in the diagonal opposite corner of where it was previously.
- And then, as if the fixed width crap of Oasis wasn't enough, now there is a huge chunk of that fixed width taking up the right side of every article for "popular articles", which squeezes the arte/skill/title list pages into oblivion if they weren't already given fixed-width columns. What's worse is that it can't even be hidden or removed unless you are logged in, meaning users like myself with several Wikia accounts are forced to see the right side consumed by pointless empty space whenever we shift between accounts or avoid logging in... perhaps Wikia also dumped some advertisements there? I dunno, I use a custom HOSTS file to prevent most ads from appearing. They won't get any ad revenue from me.
- Also, the "Recent Changes" log was removed from the "Explore" dropdown so there is no more easy link to the Special:RecentChanges page, and therefore it will never be seen by anyone who isn't already aware of its existence. I'd like to make a request to have such a link manually added into the "Community" dropdown for the sake of convenience.
- I know that ranting about this here doesn't accomplish anything, but you know, it's part of my brand, I have to say the usual stuff when it comes up lol. And thus I vanish back into the violet light of Verum..... :3c
