Flame Lance (フレイムランス Fureimuransu?) is usually a Fire-elemental intermediate spell in the Tales series.
Arte Description and History[]
When this spell is cast, it summons a single blade of fire from the sky that strikes into the ground at an angle, causing a small explosion that deals moderate Fire-elemental damage and knocks down all enemies within range. Rubia Natwick's version has her summon multiple fire swords to rain on the foe in close proximity.
In Tales of Symphonia, Genis Sage learns this spell if he is geared toward the Strike branch line of artes. Flame Lance is also required to learn both Thunder Arrow and Spiral Flare, two other spells on the Strike branch. Many boss enemies, including Efreet and Origin, have access to this spell.
In the language files of Tales of Innocence, there is a voice clip of this arte used by Ruca Milda. However, he doesn't have access to this arte in the final version of the game.
