Catastrophe as it appears in Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.
Gauntlet Blitz (カタストロフィ Katasutorofi?, "Catastrophe") is an arte with two different effects in the Tales series.
Arte Description and History
In Tales of Graces, when Sophie uses this arte, she spread her arms, charging energy. She then dashes through the enemy, leaving a trail of light in her path which deals damage. This arte is one of a series of artes that draws inspiration from the fighting styles of Sophie and her friends, this particular one from Sophie herself. The English name is a reference to Sophie's weapons, which are gauntlets, while the Japanese name contains sounds that are similar to Sophie's name. In Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, this arte is "The Third Movement" associated with the Earth element that monsters can use during a Unison Attack, if the requirements are met. The arte gathers earth energy around the target and then drops a meteor on it.
