Kalviola (カルビオラ Karubiora?) is the capital of Calvalese in Tales of Destiny, serving as home to one of the world's Straylize Temples. In Tales of Destiny 2, which takes place 18 years after the events of Tales of Destiny, the capital no longer functions as a city and has been converted to a holy temple by the Order of Atamoni.

History[]

In Tales of Destiny, Kalviola is a large desert city that serves as the capital of the Calvalese region and contains a Straylize Temple, which the protagonists visit in their pursuit of Lydon Bernhardt, who has fled Seinegald's Straylize Temple with the Eye of Atamoni. When the group first arrives in town, they are greeted by a woman who directs them to the Straylize Temple, calling it an abominable place, with Philia Felice later commenting that the people of the Calvalese region do not worship a god. At the Temple, Philia instructs the group to wait until nightfall so that she may allow them to enter secretly.

Within the cathedral, the group finds Lydon, who uses the Eye of Atamoni to summon a hoard of basilisks that distract the group long enough for him to escape. After these events, Baruk Songram, the Oberon executive of the Calvalese region, informs the group that monsters have been gathering around Neuestadt, prompting them to investigate the dilemma. In Tales of Destiny 2, Kalviola is reduced to a large, elaborate temple that houses yet another temple beneath it that is used to worship the goddess Fortuna, surprisingly containing not-so-holy objects such as demonic statues and skulls.
