Due to the Windriders' success as Rolance's most trusted mercenaries, Konan proposed to one of the members, Rose, to officially recruit the Windriders into the army. One day, however, he was inadvertently turned into a hellion by Dezel's blessing. With his elitism heightened from the malevolence, he accused the Windriders' leader, Brad, of conspiring in the murder of the first imperial prince, which Konan himself had orchestrated. In Tales of Zestiria the X, Konan enlisted the aid of the Windriders in a war, promising them greatness and pledging to marry Rose. When the mercenaries achieved total victory, Konan no longer had a use for them and had the Windriders ambushed. As a result, many of its members were killed, including Brad.
Years later, Konan is involved in a scheme to sell a highly addictive tainted elixir with the aid of the church's corrupt clerics. One night he is attacked by Rose in his castle, after she had finally managed to track his whereabouts in a bid for revenge. While she initially appears to have struck a fatal blow, Konan proves resilient, and his guards arrive on the scene. After a brutal battle between the two, the bridge collapses and sends Konan, Rose, and Shepherd Sorey into the lake. While the Prince's body is never recovered, Lailah confirms that his injuries were fatal.
