Last Fencer (TotR) Kratos

Last Fencer as it appears as a ★0 weapon for Kratos Aurion in Tales of the Rays.

The Last Fencer (ラストフェンサー Rasutofensaa?) is a recurring powerful sword in the Tales series, often serving as a very strong sword for various characters but it is mainly served as Reid Hershel's, Kratos Aurion's and Zelos Wilder's strongest weapon of choice.

Weapon Description and History[]

The Last Fencer debuted in Tales of Eternia as a powerful sword weapon that is obtained in a side quest. It is given to Reid by Sagura at Imen after obtaining the Galaxy Stone and talking to Zosimos at Balir's Castle. The sword is weaker than the Eternal Sword in terms of raw power but the Time attribute on the latter makes it ineffective against later enemies in the game, thus making the Last Fencer the strongest sword weapon for all purposes. The sword also offers a minor stat boost on Intelligence, Evasion, Luck, and a chance on hit to recover 4% of his max HP.

In Tales of Destiny 2, the Last Fencer is obtained in a chest at the God's Egg. The sword can wielded by either Kyle Dunamis or Judas. It has the slot Relieve 6.

In Tales of Symphonia, the Last Fencer is the strongest sword weapon in the game that can be wielded by Zelos Wilder or Kratos Aurion. The sword, like most other swords, deals additional damage to Human-type enemies. The sword is obtained after defeating Seles Wilder at the Coliseum in Meltokio, possibly hinting the sword is a family heirloom of the Wilder family.

In Tales of Breaker, the Last Fencer is the second strongest sword weapon that can be wielded by Evelyn. It is obtained at the Imperial City of Liliericht in Chapter 6.

The Last Fencer in Tales of Legendia is a sword weapon that is available to Chloe Valens and can be bought in the shop at Werites Beacon for 15,000 gald. Like in Tales of Symphonia, the sword allows Chloe to inflict more damage to Human-type enemies.

In Tales of the Abyss, the Last Fencer is a sword weapon that can only be obtained via special request at Din's Shop in Chesedonia. The sword can be wielded by Luke fon Fabre and Guy Cecil. In the cameo battle at Baticul's coliseum, Reid also wields the Last Fencer as his main weapon.

In Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, the Last Fencer is Zelos's default weapon starting in Chapter 8, replacing the Silver Sword from earlier chapters. Despite being a sword weapon, it cannot be used by Emil Castagnier. It comes with the skills Life Drain 2, Dex Increase 2, and A.ATK Up 2.

In Tales of Vesperia, the Last Fencer is a sword weapon that can only be used by Yuri Lowell. In the Xbox release of the game, it is dropped by Duke Pantarei's final form known as the Radiant Winged One or it can be crafted via synthesis with 5 Red Star Gems, 5 Blue Star Gems, 5 Green Star Gems, 5 Orange Star Gems, 5 Light Star Gems and 38,888 gald. In the PlayStation 3 and Definitive Edition releases of the game, it can only be crafted via synthesis and it comes up with a different recipe with 1 Shining Star Gem, 2 Light Star Gems, 2 Dark Star Gems, and 77,777 Gald. It comes with the skills Super Chain 3 and Glory.

In Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X, the Last Fencer is the strongest rapier weapon that can only be wielded by Mel in a Spirit Sword costume. It is dropped from the Arboreal Arbiter enemy.

In Tales of VS., the Last Fencer is a weapon for Kyle and Kratos that is unlocked by accumulating 90,000 GP or by connecting to the game's website, although the latter option is no longer available. It is one of few weapons that changes the user's weapon skin. The Last Fencer is also a tool that allows the user to use Fuujinbakufuu.

In Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave, it is the strongest sword for Reid and Chloe after they reached Level 65. It increases the user's HP by 2,000.

In Tales of the Rays, the Last Fencer initially appeared as a ★4 weapon that taught Chloe the arte New Moon Rising. A corrupted version of the Last Fencer, named Chaos Fencer (カオスフェンサー Kaosufensaa?) is a ★4 weapon that taught Alexei Dinoia the arte Violent Pain. With the introduction of zero artes, the Last Fencer also appeared as two ★0 weapons that taught Kratos the arte Kou Majinken and the arte Majinken Kouga to Reid. Both versions can also be a weapon skin.

In the Narikiri Dungeon games, the Radiant Mythology games, as well as Tales of Wall Breaker, the Last Fencer appears as Reid Hershel's main weapon.
