Magic Cancel

Magic Cancel (マジックキャンセル, Majikkukyanseru^?), also localized as Magic Combo, is a recurring skill and a Boost Attack in the Tales series.

Arte Description and History[]

In Tales of Vesperia, it is a passive skill localized as Magic Combo that allows Rita Mordio to instantly use an altered arte after casting the magic arte it was derived from. In Tales of VS. it allows to chain a base arte into a magic arte. It also has a second version called Magic Cancel 2 (マジックキャンセル２, Majikkukyanseru 2^?) which allows to chain an arcane arte into a magic arte.

In Tales of Arise, Rinwell disrupts all enemies in the middle of charging an astral arte and downs them with a snap of her fingers. In doing so, she steals the arte about to be cast and stores it in her book for use by her Magic Charging perk while rending her opponent temporarily unable to use the arte. After being upgraded in Beyond the Dawn, Rinwell also summons four wind orbs around her that explode in place.
