The Merchant (商人 Shounin?) is a recurring costume in the Narikiri Dungeon series of games.
Job Characteristics[]
The Merchant uses money to achieve its effects. It is associated with the Sode no Shita arte, which bribes enemies with Gald to remove them from battle. In Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 3, it expands its repertoire to include the use of healing items at the cost of Gald.
Appearances[]
Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon[]
The Merchant and its upgrade, the Businessman (だいしょうにん 「大商人」 Daishounin?), both use Gald to bribe enemies to escape. The Merchant costume can be made by combining the Fighter and either the Apprentice Swordsman or Scholar costumes. The Businessman can be created by combining a Merchant costume with a Fighter, Martial Artist, Champion, Sumo Wrestler, or another Merchant costume.
Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 2[]
The Merchant costume can be created by combining the Pouch (がまぐち Gamaguchi?) root item with any costume.
Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 3[]
The Merchant costume can be created by combining the base Mimic costume with the Golden Abacus (きんのそろばん Gin no Soroban?) root item. Julio Sven's Merchant costume is the basis of Ras's costume, referencing his cover as a traveling merchant.
