Mimic (なりきり士 / なりきり師なりきりし Narikirishi?, "Costume Artist") is a recurring job class and concept in the Tales series.

Job Characteristics

A mimic has the capability of using costumes to take on the powers of that costume's occupation. Oftentimes, the base character class is weak and capable of very little but physical attacks, but the characters they can turn into provide the mimic with versatility. In the games that they are featured in, they are the base costumes that can usually be combined with other items or costumes as stepping stones.

Mimic costumes are the base costumes for Julio Sven and Caro Orange. It has no additional features and can only use basic punches, but any costume can be turned to the Mimic by using the Fashion Magazine (ファッションざっし Fasshon-zasshi?) root item, resetting the costume to a known state and element for further refining.
