Mixolydia of Fonimes (ミクソリディアオブフォニムス, Mikusoridiaobufonimusu^?) is Tear Grants's overray mirrage arte in Tales of the Rays.

Arte Description and History

Tear sings the sixth Fonic Hymn and uses Grand Cross to lift and impale her targets on a mystic cross. She then extends with the seventh Fonic Hymn and attacks the enemy with the fonons generated from it. This arte references the secret event from Tales of the Abyss, where she sings the Grand Fonic Hymn if she and Luke fon Fabre are in the final battle against Van Grants.

According to a tweet from the official Twitter account of Tales of the Rays, Mixolydia of Fonimes encompasses a chain linking Grand Cross, a Field of Fonons, and the seventh Fonic Hymn.

The word "mixolydia" is derived from the term mixolydian mode, a music term that among many meanings can refer to "the ancient Greek harmoniai or tonoi, based on a particular octave species or scale".
