Percival Yil Mid Asgard (パーシバル・イル・ミッド・アスガード Paashibaru Iru Middo Asugaado?) is a supporting character in Tales of Berseria. He is the current Prince of the Holy Midgand Empire but refuses to adhere to the Abbey's influence after they stole his pet hawk Griffin once he was discovered to be receptive to Innominat's power.
History[]
The Abbey mutated Griffin into a therion and sealed him away in Loegres Villa, where he is forced to consume daemons, and to a further extent, malevolence. A group led by Velvet Crowe is sent by Tabatha Baskerville to assassinate the High Priest Gideon, but Griffin ends up killing the man instead and feeds off his malevolence. Unwilling to allow his friend's life to be stripped away, Percival tricks the exorcist on guard and disabled the barrier holding Griffin in place. But then, Griffin killed the exorcist. Knowing that he can never go back, he turns to Tabatha Baskerville and the Bloodwing Butterflies, who request Velvet and her group to smuggle him to Titania.
Percival remains at Titania with Griffin, when the party start hunting the other therions. One of them, a girl named Kamoana, nicknames Griffin "Grawky", to which Percival surprisingly got used to. However, when the Abbey suddenly seizes the prison island and he is forced to return to the capital with Artorius Collbrande. Later in the story, he is able to withstand the presence of Innominat's domain and saves a young girl who inevitably succumbs to the suppression deep within Loegrea Villa. Seeing the true face of Artorius' desired "ideal world", he begs Velvet to stop him.
Trivia[]
Griffin represents the "cowardice" type of malevolence.
