Pixie Circle as it appears in Tales of Graces ƒ.
Pixie Circle (ピクシーサークル Pikushiisaakuru?) is a novice area-based healing spell that appears in recent Tales games.
Arte Description and History
Pixie Circle first appears in Tales of Graces and its PlayStation 3 port, Tales of Graces ƒ, as the first healing spell available to Cheria Barnes. Upon activation, a small circle of light is drawn in a counterclockwise fashion beneath the targeted character. As the circle is drawn, the light rises, appearing as a thin wall, healing the target. It is Cheria's fastest healing spell with the lowest CC cost. Unlike other area-based healing spells, where the area of effect is determined once the spell incantation is complete, Pixie Circle's area of effect follows the character it is cast upon.
This allows it to be used in situations where the target may be moving, resulting in other spells like Healing Circle or Fairy Circle to miss; however, the amount of health recovered and its initial area of effect are extremely small, requiring characters to be practically touching for it to take effect. If the "Effect Area" mastery skills are learned, its area of effect becomes comparative to Healing Circle's initial size. When combined with Cheria's "Share" mastery skill, Pixie Circle can be used to recover a substantial amount of HP for herself at minimal cost and time.
In Tales of Xillia and its sequel, Tales of Xillia 2, Pixie Circle is the first healing spell available to Elize Lutus. Upon activation, a small, circular glyph appears beneath the targeted character, with a leaf motif in the design. Unlike in Tales of Graces, the area of effect will stay on the location the target was standing on upon activation, but its area of effect is substantially larger. If the artes button is held down during the incantation, the area of effect can be targeted with the left control stick. While Elize's "Switching Teepo" is set to "Teepo ON", the area of effect is increased, and the amount of HP recovered is increased from 10% to 20%. Pixie Circle can be used to activate the linked arte Pixie Heal with Jude Mathis's Healer. In Tales of Xillia 2, Pixie Circle can be used with Milla Maxwell's Undine and Muzét's Sweet Heart to activate the link arte Fairy Circle.
