Prehna (プレーナ Pureena?) is a supporting character in Tales of Hearts, only appearing in the original incarnation of the game. She is a friend of Ines.
History[]
Prehna is an engineer who studied Will Stones alongside Silver and Ines in their youth. She was also Ines's roommate in their academy days.
The party meets her in Maximus Castle on their way to asking Paraiba for the Lumifax pendant. As she's working with bombs when they find her, they ask her for some gunpowder in order to pass a xerom. Her cat of ten years named Platta (プラッタ?) has the recipe that the party needs in order to create the bombs, so they have to chase her down.
While chasing Platta, the party figures out Prehna's intentions behind bringing explosives to the castle: she wants to blow everything up, taking herself out in the process, in order to fulfill Silver's wishes. Knowing this, Ines talks her out of it, and Prehna snaps at her. She reveals that she too used to like Silver, and gets mad at Ines for having never confessed to him out of consideration for her feelings. Despite this, she calms down and makes bombs for the party so that they can proceed on to meet with Paraiba.
Appearance and Personality[]
Prehna has long blondish hair held in a wavy ponytail, and dons an imperial uniform.
Prehna is a competent woman, and spends her time researching how to create explosives using fire and lightning rocks. She's also calculating and sharp tongued, as she's quick to accuse Ines of letting Silver die without doing anything. She can be quite kind though, as Ines reflects on a time where she came down with a sickness and Prehna went without sleep for days trying to help her.

- Prehna derives from the mineral of the same name.
- Unlike other characters who were removed in the remake, Prehna has no cameo or even a mention in Hearts R. On the contrary, her cat's legacy lives on through a sub event where you find a cat village. This is because there was a skit where Lithia is allergic to Platta and Hearts R had to find a way to still include it even with these characters being removed.
