Prism Stars (プリズミックスターズ / プリズミック・スターズ Purizumikkusutaazu / Purizumikku Sutaazu?, "Prismic Stars"), sometimes localized as Prismic Stars, is a Light-element spell, most recognized as one of several extensions to the mystic arte Dual the Sol, which first appeared in Tales of Eternia.

Arte Description and History[]

This spell appears as an extension in Tales of Eternia, Tales of Rebirth, and Tales of Graces ƒ. In Tales of Eternia, it is possible to summon Maxwell and then continue the summon through various button combinations, adding several extensions to the attack. When used, several planets in different colors spin around the target as they collide with the latter and deal great damage. When used by Sekundes in the Japanese version, he says Tetra Spell instead of the arte's name as he is using voice lines from Dhaos in the PlayStation version of Tales of Phantasia.

The arte is still represented as an extension in Tales of Rebirth, used by Eugene Gallardo and Hilda Rhambling with Mao in the party. The appearance of this arte is similar to the animation in Tales of Eternia, though is performed much faster, requiring more button presses in a shorter period of time to activate it correctly. These extensions are further referenced by the Fodra Queen in Tales of Graces ƒ, where the player can actually force the Fodra Queen to use Prismic Stars after Aquarius Sphere, using the same input as from Tales of Eternia. Upon activation in Tales of Graces ƒ, the party is taken to a space with a giant green planetoid as streaks of light appear from the background, rushing past them in forms of stars with a spectrum of colors.

It also appears as a Compound Special Attack in Tales of Symphonia, formed from one of Genis Sage's advanced Technical spells and Raine Sage's Ray. Raine and Genis raise their weapons, sending a barrage of stars to attack through the enemy numerous times. In its sequel, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, the arte is not available for use in battle. However, it is possible to trigger a skit where Raine and Genis use this attack on Tenebrae after he makes a bad pun about the party. In this skit, its name is localized as "Prismic Stars" rather than what it had been in the original game.
