Punishment (パニッシュメント, Panisshumento^?) is a Dark- and Shade-elemental spell in the Tales series.

Arte Description and History

In Tales of Eternia, the Greater Craymel of Darkness, Shadow, uses this arte as a rare counter to aerial attacks. He freezes his opponent in the air and summons a field of darkness. Dark lances then pierce his target from below, finishing with a wave of energy lances.

In Tales of Rebirth, the Sacred Beast of Darkness, Eephon, uses this arte. When cast, a red glyph circles Eephon, and a dark pool appears on the ground beneath him. He then slams his blade to the ground, creating a circular vortex of dark energy that rises and then dissipates. The arte is of the game's Shade element and serves as Eephon's signature move. In the PlayStation Portable version of the game, the arte gains a cut-in image of Eephon when performed for the first time during the battle in the Shrine of Eephon.
