Rending Slash (烈震斬 Resshinzan?, "Raging Quake Slash") is a recurring strike arte used by Nan in Tales of Vesperia and Ivar from Tales of Xillia.

Rending Slash as it appears in Tales of Xillia.
In Tales of Vesperia, Nan flips herself in the air and slams her chakram down upon the target in a flash of glowing energy. This arte traps her weapon in the ground for a short time and leaves her open to attacks; one Secret Mission involves striking her while she is defenseless. After training with Nan, Karol Capel can learn a similar move in Rending Drop.
In Tales of Xillia and Tales of Xillia 2, Ivar leaps into the air, performs a few quick frontal spins, and lands while stabbing his daggers into the ground, emitting a bursting crack in the earth for a short distance in front on him in a slightly curvy line. This arte is Earth-elemental and can inflict the Stun status ailment.
