Rending Tiger

Rending Tiger (猛虎連撃破, Mouko Rengekiha^?, "Fierce Tiger Chaining Attack Break"), also localized as Omega Demon Chaos, Tiger Combo Blast, and Rending Tiger Blade, is an upgraded version of the Tiger Blade arte.

Arte Description and History

Rending Tiger Blade is a powerful and high-tiered variant of Tiger Blade. When it is activated, the user slashes upward and downward four times, effectively chaining four Tiger Blade attacks together into one arte. In Tales of Eternia, this arte can be extended to perform the mystic arte Dragon Demon Chaos. In the Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology games, when used by the Swordsman class, they perform Tiger Blade twice and Tiger Rage once.

In Tales of Xillia 2, Rending Tiger is a Linked Arte used by Alvin and Gaius. Alvin performs Tiger Blade, with Gaius following suit. Alvin then performs Tiger Rage whereas Gaius performs a jumping upward slash to finish the arte.

This arte has also appeared in the Game Boy Advance version of Tales of Phantasia, but due to the arte's discovery in the Dwarven Temple, a dungeon extension exclusive to this version of the game, the arte cannot be obtained in any of the other versions. This arte does not have a voiced line in Japanese version, since all of the voices were recycled from prior versions of the game. Despite being a Deadly Skill, it cannot be canceled into Dark Blade since it has the same Cancel Level. This arte also has a similar classification to Final Fury in the PlayStation release and those derived from it as a base arte.
