Shadow (シャドウ, Shadou^?), along with Luna Shade (ルナシェイド, Runasheido^?) and Summon: Darkness (降霊召符・闇, Koureishoufu: Yami^?, "Spirit Summoning Seal: Darkness"), are artes that summon the Spirit of Darkness, Shadow.

Arte Description and History

As the arte summoning the Spirit of Dark, all of the artes are darkness-related. Shadow first appears in Tales of Phantasia under the command of Claus F. Lester. When summoned, Shadow appears and wreaths the enemy in darkness. Summon: Darkness in Tales of Symphonia would have a similar effect, though Shadow also cures the party's status ailments. In Tales of Eternia, Shadow throws a lance of energy down the middle of the screen. Similarly with Luna Shade in Tales of Destiny 2, Shadow cuts the screen three times with an energy weapon, with the third slash, bringing in a cut-in of his own.
