The Shadow Somas are a powerful set of eight Soma evolutions that can be found in Tales of Hears R. Each Soma possesses a hidden and untapped power which allows them to draw strength from defeated enemies, similar to the Devil's Arms, the Catalyst Weapons in Tales of the Abyss and the Fell Arms in Tales of Vesperia. To acquire them the player must defeat the Shadow versions for each character inside Triverse Gate, the Ex Dungeon of the game.
The Shadow Somas consist of the following:
- Sol Zodiac is Kor Meteor' Shadow Soma. He obtains the weapon from "Shadow Kor" in Triverse Gate main area.
- Brillante is Kohaku Hearts' Shadow Soma. She obtains the weapon from "Shadow Kohaku" in Triverse Gate's main area.
- Andrealphus is Hisui Hearts' Shadow Soma. He obtains the weapon from "Shadow Hisui" in Triverse Gate by accessing through the Anders Mine.
- Bestia is Gall Gruner' Shadow Soma. He obtains the weapon from "Shadow Gall" in Triverse Gate's main area.
- Arcus Pluvius is Beryl Benito' Shadow Soma. She obtains the weapon from "Shadow Beryl" in Triverse Gate by accessing through Schehera Desert.
- Charites is Ines Lorenzen' Shadow Soma. He obtains the weapon from "Shadow Ines" in Triverse Gate by accessing through the Anders Mine.
- Cerberus is Kunzite' Shadow Soma. He obtains the weapon from "Shadow Kunzite" in Triverse Gate by accessing through Schehera Desert.
- Zukunft is Chalcedony Akerman' Shadow Soma. He obtains the weapon from "Shadow Chalcedony" in Triverse Gate's main area.
