Arte Description and History
In Tales of Innocence, Spada transforms into his past incarnation, the great sword Durandal. As a massive sword, he spins across the entire field, sweeping horizontally through all enemies before flipping into the air and ending with a downward thrust that pierces the primary target into the ground.
The animation of this attack was changed significantly in Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2 and its sequel. As with the rest of the cast from Tales of Innocence, his transformation is removed, but unlike other characters, he cannot perform the same actions in his human form. Instead, he rises into the air surrounded by a divine light before spinning vertically downward into the enemy. He continues the attack by launching the enemy into the air before launching a barrage of thrusts at the airborne enemy.
In the PlayStation Vita version of the game, the animation of this mystic arte changed once more. Spada dashes toward the enemy and performs various slashes, ending with a kick that sends the enemy flying. Then, he follows the enemy by jumping toward a magic circle, transforming into his past life, Durandal, prior to piercing through the enemy.
