The Silver Flame (白銀の炎 Hakugin no Honoo?) is a special term in Tales of Zestiria and Tales of Berseria.
History[]
Originally, this ability was used by Innominat. As an Empyrean capable of devouring malevolence, he could also use the Silver Flame to purify it. One day, during the Opening, a part of him was split, which resulted in the birth of Laphicet, who would end up inheriting it. It was first discovered when Innominat attempted to turn Laphicet into a dragon. To everyone's surprise, the malevolence burned away. Eventually, Laphicet would replace Innominat, becoming the new leader of the Empyreans, Maotelus, and use his power as the new Empyrean to disperse the Silver Flame unto the world, purifying most of the malevolence, ushering in a new era of peace. To prevent the malevolence from spreading and engulfing the world, Maotelus set up a system for others to use his Silver Flame.
Unfortunately, the Age of Chaos would prove devastating, as Maotelus would lose himself to the malevolence. The only one left with the power would be Prime Lord Lailah. Without a Shepherd to conduct her power, Lailah was left to wait, until Sorey would come to take up the mantle.
