Activation[]
Now before I forget my current train of thought, I did some testing of my own to determine the activation of this attack. It seems that most sites have activation methods listed with various conditions, but not all of them are completely accurate or clear enough to understand. The rules that I have determined are as follows:
- both Emil Castagnier and Marta Lualdi must be in the active party
- both characters must have the Special skill equipped
- activate a Unison Attack when both Light and Dark elements are on the Elemental Grid, regardless of the primary field element
- the Unision Gauge must be filled at least halfway through, but not completely
So basically, Special is definitely required for both characters, not one or the other or neither. The Light and Dark elements can be both minor, or minor/major in either way. I should also say that the choice of the controlled character does nothing, and both chars can activate the attack using any of the three possible Elemental Grid setups. Other elements on the grid will not interfere with its activation, no matter what monster elements are in the party.
I know I'm rehashing what other people have already discovered and confirmed, but even this wiki isn't completely clear about it - the entries for Ars Nova on Emilia and H-Mart(lol corean K-Mart for groceries)'s arte lists are fairly close, but the actual article for this attack (the one that this talk page is attached to) is quite misleading. And other sites seemed to insist Special wasn't necessary, or that the attack won't appear if a stray element on the grid matches one of your monsters, as if one of the Movements would override it.
Yes I finally have the game now, though I'm not actually playing it, my sister is.
