I've decided to change the name of this page to "Callegia", which I feel is a better translation than "Karegia". I realize "Karegia" is more widely known, but the redirect function will prevent problems there. I've seen "Callegia" a number of places and feel it is a more appropriate spelling. I'll be making this change to all relevant pages tonight.
- ...Callegia or Callegea? Ultimately, the spelling you wish to use is up to you, but I maintain that the wider community's preference is best when nothing official exists. It's not like Karegia is obnoxiously engrishy compared to Sannytown, or most of the official JP names for the Hearts antagonists
which people deleted from those pages as soon as the Hearts Reimagination vomit was localized with even worse names for the protagonists... but I digress. In any case, I'd like to hope that someone can find a copy of the Rebirth Perfect Guide or anything similar, which may or may not have something official for this name. Also, just move/rename pages rather than transferring the actual content from one pagename to another, so that the page history will remain continuous.
I only just now noticed that I used both spelling variations in all of that. Shit. I was actually intending to go based off this, which I believe is official and renders the spelling as "Callegea". I'll try to fix it all now.
I went ahead and ordered that book.
- I wasn't aware that this publication existed. I guess that's as official as it gets, so I'll throw my support behind the name change.
Transferred the conversations.
Okay, so I created the settlement pages, which were needed since they expand beyond single paragraphs. Also, we should consider ways to merge Rabbitz/Turtlez Village into the Katz Village page. I'm just not sure how. I know for sure that Katz Village and Rabbitz Village are entirely optional places and do not offer much information. Anyway, I removed the settlement information from the article and provided links to their new pages. I left the bolding the same and simply moved the areas of interest (as I'm now referring to them as) up to nestle under the other geographical information. I've decided that dungeons will remain on this page since this game literally has the shortest dungeons of any Tales game I've played, meaning they don't offer much dialogue or anything, but they do retain some minor historical facts that are interesting to note. They're fine here, and they're fine being redirected here, though I removed plot information here and there. The shrines will most likely have their own pages because there's a lot going on there, but I'll worry about that later. Not a big deal. Essentially done now. Yay!
Actually, the shrine information would just be a regurgitation of the Sacred Beasts themselves. I'll leave it in the Callegea article. ToR locations essentially done.
Yikes. I'm not keen on changing it, especially since the current spelling is official and more known due to Lanyn's translation. I'll create a redirect, nonetheless. Your thoughts?
- Redirect is fine, though it technically is the localization. Lanate (talk) 03:16, April 1, 2016 (UTC)
We've broken rules before.
Though an indirect reference, ToB uses the term "Calegian", which makes two localized games now that provide it with an official spelling. I'll make the necessary changes in my spare time. It's become something I can't ignore.
Alright, I took care of the main pages and things. Lanate, could you work your wiki voodoo and replace "Callegea" with "Calegia" on character, location, and term pages?
I handled it.
