"These ToL shots will be the last of the big bulks being deleted. They are of poor quality and not necessary. I warned the user who uploaded them to provide citation."
Adding to this so that no one is under the impression that I'm doing all of this image deletion out of meanness (or madness). That is the farthest from the truth. If I really didn't care, I would not be uploading so many. I care about this wiki's infrastructure, and because the final leg of this image sweep has been put off for far too long, I am pulling no punches. This will literally be the last of image cleanup, and all newly-uploaded images will be monitored carefully. Not only do the majority of these images I'm deleting lack citation, but many are of poor quality and entirely unnecessary. I don't like having images clogging pages purely for the sake of having images. The content should be the focus of any article. I do care about aesthetics though, which is why I have been uploading images and attempting to format them appropriately. In the case of this particular user who uploaded all these ToL images, he chose not to provide citation even after my warnings, failed to categorize the images appropriately, and provided nearly all of them with obscure file names...and guess what? He even stated the images were his, as in, he obtained them himself. Guess what? It doesn't matter! I'm not going to play cleanup by renaming all those files and providing descriptions/sources on each.
Let this final image sweep serve as a solid warning to anyone who wishes to upload images to this wiki. It will be done correctly, or it will be deleted. More often than not with new images, I am lenient enough to distinguish the file's origin (typically AC) and make the necessary changes. Likewise, with official artwork, I am not as strict, per say, on citation, but that's mostly because said images are widespread, easily traceable, and copyright of Namco in every way possible. The official websites and AC have all we really need in terms of official artwork/status images/cut-ins. Anyway, many of these images can easily be re-obtained and uploaded properly. I imagine I will be doing more of it from time to time in the future. However, I will say that many of the images I have deleted are entirely unnecessary. There needs to be justification in the image's use on this wiki. The mistake users have made in the past (including myself with the animation shots, which I still have no idea what I want to do with) is uploading images to the wiki without designating a particular usage for the file. There should be a reason to upload an image.
Also, let Juan Ma be an example to everyone. Just because you slap an image on the wiki with a source stating something generic like "taken from blahblahblah" does not mean you are good to go. Spamming poor-quality, non-descriptive, misnamed, useless images will not be accepted. I will not have it. I will not waste my time fixing them anymore. It is not fair to me, when I have gone above and beyond ensuring that the entirety of the image infrastructure on this wiki is neat, organized, and easily navigable. It is far too time-consuming for one to accomplish and maintain his/her sanity. Have some respect for me and this wiki. This seems like a rant, but really, I've had no problems with any current users. You've all been fine. The mess I've been cleaning is due to years of neglect in terms of images, and although I appreciate a good portion of Juan Ma's uploads, an equally good portion is crap. Crap that has been or will be deleted. The user who uploaded these ToL files is more of the type of user I'm referring to in this statement. Don't be like him. So, current users, keep up the good work! Juan Ma, tread carefully. I love your ToP iOS images. I did not love renaming each one.
