Tiger Rage

Tiger Rage (虎牙連斬, Kogarenzan^?, "Tiger Fang Chaining Slash") is an upgraded version of the Tiger Blade arte.

Arte Description and History

When Tiger Rage is executed, the user slashes upward to launch themself into the air with the enemy, twisting in the air to slash the target at least twice more before ending with a final downward slash while landing. This attack essentially follows the actions of Tiger Blade with extra slashes while the user is airborne.

In Tales of Eternia, Reid Hershel's slashes consist of a double clockwise spin slash.

In Tales of Symphonia, this arte is part of the Technical branch, requiring Lloyd Irving to be aligned with the Technical arte style before learning the attack. His slashes are a leftward slash from each of his swords. If he is aligned with the Strike branch of artes, he will instead learn Heavy Tiger Blade instead. In the PlayStation 3 and Definitive Edition versions of Tales of Vesperia, this attack is an altered arte used by Flynn Scifo. His slashes consist of a clockwise spin left slash, down, then up. He can activate this arte if the Chain and Gale skills are equipped while using Tiger Blade, until the arte is mastered. After this, Tiger Rage is available as a separate arte that does not require the skills to be equipped in order to be used.

In Tales of Innocence, Spada Belforma's variant is a more flamboyant version of Lloyd's. In Tales of Innocence R this is altered to a down slash from his right sword, then an up from his left.

In Tales of Xillia and Tales of Xillia 2, Alvin's variant is a single right slash. Ludger Will Kresnik's is a left slash from his right blade.

In Tales of Symphonia: The Animation, Lloyd uses an unnamed version of this arte against a member of the Renegades disguised as Desians.

In the Japanese language files of Tales of Legendia, there is a voice clip of this arte used by Chloe Valens. However, she doesn't have access to this arte in any final version of the game.
