The following is a list of status effects in Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.

Physical Ailments (状態異常 - Joutai Ijou)[]

Each physical ailment comes in four levels, each one being different in terms of time to natural recovery and the amount of effect. They all are automatically cured at the end of battle.

  • chance to be staggered when trying to attack

  • gradually becomes immobile
  • causes a game over if all party members are afflicted by the full effect of this or "KO"
Weak
虚弱
Kyojaku
  • decreases max HP
Sick
病気
Byouki
  • periodically decreases TP by 3% each time the effect triggers
Sealed Artes
封印
Fuuin
"Seal"
  • prevents the use of artes
Shock
動揺
Douyou
  • increases chance of being stunned
Sleep
睡眠
Suimin
  • prevents all movement and actions
  • removed when attacked

  • causes a game over if all party members are afflicted by this or the full effect of "Petrify"
  • persists at the end of battle and requires being cured by revival spells or effects
