Trident as it appears in Tales of the Rays.
Trident (トライデント Toraidento?) is a recurring weapon and ranged arte in the Tales series.
Arte Description and History[]
Trident first appeared in Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology as one of Hunter's artes. The user looses three arrows into the ground that travel in a fan-shaped pattern toward the target. Due to its ground-based nature, it cannot hit flying targets. This arte is removed from the Hunter's movelist in all subsequent appearances.
In Tales of the Rays, Elle Mel Marta from Tales of Asteria gains this arte due to following her Tales of Asteria gameplay design of sharing artes with Cheria Barnes, another user of throwing knives. Elle's version is similar to the Hunter's, however she activates it airborne, then throws three daggers in a fan with her right hand. If used from the ground, she will throw them vertically. If used from the air, she will throw them horizontally.
