Aselia Wiki

Melchior Mayvin page on Talespedia copied wholesale.

By the same user no less. He still hasn't learned from his actions and is actively defending his "right" to plagiarize Aselia. Lanate has done all he can to reason with him, but to no avail.

Sorry for the late reply. I took care of it.

Idea for the other english wiki

Hey Arosia!
I am aware of the problem with the other wiki ( I incidentally saw your message regarding their article about Melchior and so I got aware of it. I've got an idea that may help you. As I've seen the other wiki doesn't have an active admin anymore. Some years ago there were two german wikis too as you may remember. It is possible to fuse two wikis together and that may be an idea for your situation too. If there are any articles on the other wiki that aren't on here they could be ported over here. Afterwards the URL of the other wiki would automatically forward to your wiki. If you think this could be a solution for your situation, as there would only be one wiki afterwards, you could contact the staff about it :)
Kind regards,

Yes, this may be our course of action eventually, but I think the admin has to give consent or be inactive for at least a year or so. I'll have to see.

Translation reasons

This was something I kept forgetting to bring up AGES ago. Thing is, long ago when I was first editing this wikia, someone told me to NOT override of any of KusanagiLord's translations via the citations to his FAQ. I'm not sure if this still applies, so that's why to this day I've had my more literal translations alongside KusanagiLord's, but I'm reluctant to really get rid of his citations as well despite it confusing people ("the wikia's translations or that FAQ's translations...WHICH ONE DAMMIT?!") However, I've completely forgotten who told me to leave KusanagiLord's stuff alone, especially since I'm sure I was told of it through an edit summary or two, and I'm not sure if it's on my talk page. --SneaselSawashiro (talk) 07:19, January 22, 2018 (UTC)

If it was ages ago, it was likely Mayu, not me. I don't particularly care either way, but if you replace his translations, be sure to remove the citation as well to avoid confusion.

I'd like to respectfully contest some of the changes made to the Malevolence page after my addition. Heavenly Realm was changed to all lower case, and I believe it should not be so. It is a proper noun, and I believe they have the first letters capitalized as such in the game as well, though I am not certain. Anyway, it is a proper noun, so the first letters should be capitalized. Do you see a reason they should not be?SynchroKingSharkDrake (talk) 20:44, February 1, 2018 (UTC)

Change it back then.

Arosia (talk) 23:29, February 1, 2018 (UTC)

It isn't capitalized: source. Please do research before making such statements. Lanate (talk) 00:18, February 2, 2018 (UTC)

For clarification, I haven't really returned so much as quarantine boredom has sucked me back in. After getting nostalgic and then patching things up with Lanate, I wanted to hit the areas of the wiki that changed during my absence, maybe open some discussions, and although I may have monitored the recent changes a bit, I have no intentions of going back to my old ways, so to speak. I also restrained myself as much as I could when it came to edit sweeps, but my perfectionist tendencies took over a bit, especially since there were a lot of new things on the wiki. I'm good now. Introduced Kaimi's allusion stuffs to the mainspace, which I'm happy with, and then went back to some of my favorite things.

This isn't a goodbye message btw; rather, just explaining my resurgence and intentions from here on out. I'd like to stick around more casually when I have the time (which is a lot atm), but I'll probably be focusing more on my own areas of interest rather than playing minimod and/or taking on large projects I don't really care about. Stress isn't something I need from the wiki again. Anyway, that's all. ❤

It's nice to see you have relaxed a bit. While discipline and strictness are good traits to have if one starts to "soak" in them to much to the edge of it becoming perfectionism it might not be to everyone's benefit. So it's good that you have grown in that regard. I know that you might not be always up for a change but at times it is necessary if Wiki is to grow. I'm happy that you also liked by idea of Allussions list in the mainspace.
Despite our past conflicts I hope we will continue to do our best to ensure Aselia's growth and well-being.😄

Glad to have you back in whatever capacity you'd like to be here in! I look forward to our efforts to grow Aselia together.

In that email account I handed over to you prior to my departure, was there a conversation with Texanona regarding our affiliation with Taleslations and the conditions of using their translations here on the wiki? I know all of this was resolved ages ago and Yume herself has expressed that the information is free to use here without having to cite it (although we always will); however, I wanted to know the full extent of the matter before acting on anything.

—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arosia (talk).

No, there was nothing in it. You purged all of the conversations before handing it over.
—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lanate (talk).

Oh, okay.

Regarding Taleslations, I always saw Yume complaining on various sites that Aselia "sucks at citing" the content on the wiki. That might be part of why she does not want their site from being connected to this one, so that any perceived misinformation that is placed on this wiki would not be tied to their site. I believe her intention in asking to not have Taleslations cited is so that the actual official materials would be cited on the pages instead, meaning the guidebooks and whereever else the information might have originated from, and the misunderstanding that resulted from "don't cite us" just led to more irritation toward Aselia's content overall. At least, this is my own interpretation and may not be the overall big picture.
Quite honestly, I was always bothered by how Yume would complain about how inaccurate things were on this wiki and always insist toward her followers that the wiki is a poor resource of information. I never made any tumblreddit accounts [because reasons] so I could never argue against such statements and explain that any wiki that is available to be edited freely can have slipups or editing fails due to users inserting that incorrect info without sufficient moderation of the content being added (or lack of awareness regarding the accuracy of the content involved by the mods/admins), or that any incorrect statements can in fact be edited for accuracy by anyone else who notices it. If something is wrong and you know it, then you might as well fix it yourself, right? Complaining about it elsewhere and encouraging others to avoid interacting with the wiki to fix those problems is counterintuitive and only exacerbates the problem.
Now, if the reason for not editing questionable things on this wiki is due to laziness and apathy, then that is totally understandable. Guilty as charged, I am.
Also, this message wall thing is... nvm.

My Profile

I saw that my profile got deleted. I must have been using a bad template. can you help me? What template should I use? I also wish I could work with the Tales company and get Tales of Kemet (my fan fiction) to become a Tales of game. It's my dream to be in the video game as a primary female protagonist, just like Velvet (except as myself). I'm the primary protagonist of Tales of Kemet and I'm sent on a journey to retrieve the treasures of King Tutankhamen. Please specify what I should do with the user template.

—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kaede Ennead (talk).

I wasn't the one who deleted it. All I did was point out that I'm not keen on the idea of users creating templates for their profiles, so I proposed it for deletion. If you want to use a similar template, many users opt for the CharInfo one that we use in the mainspace. It essentially works the same way as yours did. I'll post it on your profile, and you can just fill it in from there.

Tales of Kemet

I also have an unfinished Wiki for my fan fiction. You could read the fan fiction on my deviant art.

Input request

Lanate has come up with a new idea for the returning characters in Tales of Crestoria. It's on my talk page. —NDS123 (talk) 11:47, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

I've been checking the wiki daily for a while now since my "return", but I've learned that I really don't have the time or interest to dedicate much to it anymore. Rather than contributing, I find myself monitoring recent edits, which I deem a filthy habit personally. I don't enjoy it, and I have far too many other things going on in my life to distract myself with something else, especially when that something else does perfectly fine without me. I think the wiki is running smoothly and hope it continues to do so.

Arosia (talk) 02:38, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for your help! I wish you good luck with whatever you turn your attention to now! Lanate (talk) 18:53, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
