A wanted poster is a recurring object in Tales series. It serves as a comedic representation of one or more party members being chased down by a major governing body.
Description[]
A wanted poster commonly appears after the protagonist has commited an action that is considered contrary to laws or goals of the realm or world's ruling power. The physical nature of a wanted poster serves more as a comedic relief throughout the story as it characters depicted on them appear to be drawn by a kindergarten-aged children rather than by professional artists. Due to this characters are often perplexed if their wanted poster depiction reflects how others actually perceive them.

Tales of Symphonia[]
In Tales of Symphonia, after the incident at Iselia Human Ranch, Lloyd Irving and Genis Sage leave Iselia and hurry after Colette Brunel. They arrive in Triet where they learn that Desians are looking for Lloyd due to him possessing an Exsphere. After seeing his wanted poster up close he wonders if he is actually really as ugly depicted on it but Genis says that with a depiction like that it is unlikely that he will be caught.
Tales of Vesperia[]
In Tales of Vesperia, after escaping from the prison in Zaphias, Yuri Lowell becomes a wanted man by the knights and as a consequence, his wanted posters start to appear over the world. As opposed to other characters in the series, Yuri is not only unbothered by his depiction but the increasing reward for his capture excites him.
Tales of Xillia[]
In Tales of Xillia, Jude Mathis and Milla Maxwell become wanted people after Milla's attempt to shut down the Lance of Kresnik. When they discover their wanted posters that depict them in a rather caricatural way, Jude is shaken while Milla wonders if their wanted posters' depiction reflects their true nature as it is something she read in a book.
Tales of Xillia 2[]
In Tales of Xillia 2, after Ludger Will Kresnik, Elle Mel Marta, and Jude Mathis return to Ludger's apartment after the terrorist attack, Bisley Karcsi Bakur, Vera, and Ivar of Spirius Corporation come shortly after and inform the party that Julius Will Kresnik has become a wanted man with Ivar presenting a wanted poster with Julius' comical likeness. A moment later, Spirius members reveal that Ludger has also become a wanted man due to his familial bond with Julius and incidentality of Ludger's first day of work at train station coinciding with the day of the terrorist attack.
