The Warrior (戦士 Senshi?) is a recurring job class in the Tales series.

Job Characteristics[]

The Warrior's weapons of choice are both one-handed swords and axes. The Warrior is usually one of the first obtainable jobs in each game. In earlier games, the Warrior's fighting style was similar to the Swordsman's style of fighting as it was first patterned after Reid Hershel, but in later games, their fighting style was changed to one that relies on brute force and allows them to knock down enemies with no problem, which is patterned after Luke fon Fabre and Presea Combatir. The Warrior job can usually equip shields as well as light and heavy armor. The job has high physical stats, granting potentially high-damage dealing techniques. Standard artes usually associated with the Warrior job include Infliction, Havoc Devastation, and Punishing Beast.

Appearances[]

Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X[]

Both Dio and Mell have Warrior-type costumes. Dio's Roaring Axe costumes are closer to the traditional Warrior archetype, while Mell's Beast Axe costumes are more bestial. The costumes in these branches are:

Roaring Axe-type (轟斧系 Goufu‑kei?)

  • Axe Warrior (斧戦士 Fusenshi?)
  • Heavy Warrior (重戦士 Juusenshi?)
  • Depraved Warrior (破壊戦士 Hakaisenshi?)

Beast Axe-type (獣斧系 Juufu-kei?)

  • Warrior (ウォーリア?)
  • Kitty Warrior (キティウォーリア?)
  • Beast Warrior (ビーストウォーリア?)

Mell's Amazoness (アマゾネス?) costume is also thematically similar, taking a cat-based spin on the job.

Tales of Eternia Online[]

The Warrior is one of the starter jobs, specializing in defense. The male versions were modeled after Reid Hershel.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology[]

The Warrior is one of the starter jobs in Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2[]

The Warrior reappears in Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2, moving further away from artes related to the Swordsman job and instead toward the typical axe-users of the series.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3[]

The Warrior reappears in Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 as one of the default jobs. Following the changes from Radiant Mythology 2, the job's style of fighting is again based off the axe-users of the series.
